Trempealeau County needs election inspectors for the Aug. 11 partisan primary, and County Clerk Deb Nystuen says several municipalities are still short. “We can seat a full crew in Whitehall and Arcadia, but Ettrick, Dodge and Pigeon Falls are thin,” Nystuen said. “If you can count, stay patient and sit for a long day, we can teach you the rest.”

Inspectors check in voters, issue ballots and help tabulate results. Training is provided before the primary, and pay varies by municipality — most pay between $12 and $15 an hour, Nystuen said, with some offering half-day shifts.

Residents interested in serving should contact their municipal clerk, who makes the appointments. Poll workers must be qualified electors of the county.
